Oiolairë
'Ever-summer'; an evergreen tree brought to Númenor by the Eldar of Eressëa, from which was cut the Bough of Return set upon the Númenórean ships. Called also Bough of Return.
'Ever-summer'. A sweet-scented tree that grew in Númenor, and especially in the western region known as NÃsimaldar. It was the custom among Númenórean mariners to place a cut bough of oiolairë on the prows of their ships, as a symbol of good fortune.
